Job Summary
Store Manager Candidate supports the Store Manager in staffing, inventory management, stocking and receiving, paperwork, and store needs; participates in recruiting and staffing activities, merchandising, inventory control, and cashier accountability; oversees opening/closing, deposits, and adherence to security practices; analyzes operating statements for trends and opportunities; promotes superior customer service and safe, well-organized stores; provides leadership and development of staff and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- Ability to recruit, interview, hire, counsel, and terminate practices including legal compliance and internal processes
- Able to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
