Job Summary
Store Manager Candidate supports the Store Manager in staffing, merchandising, inventory, and store operations, including recruiting support, proper stocking and pricing, inventory management, cash handling, and ensuring a safe, well-maintained store. Responsibilities include assisting in opening/closing, reviewing operating statements for trends and opportunities, ensuring financial integrity and cash controls, providing superior customer service leadership, and maintaining compliance with policies. The role emphasizes developing external candidates for the Store Manager position, with emphasis on leadership, staffing, and operational execution, and requires strong reading/comprehension, math, and inventory/practice knowledge. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and retail experience; bilingual Spanish skills are a noted preference. The position may involve travel, and the pay ranges from $16.76 to $22.63 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience in a retail environment (preferred for external candidates)
- Ability to read and interpret documents (diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions)
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls
- Ability to learn and perform IBM cash register functions
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and procedures
- Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination practices including legal compliance and internal processes
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Effective organization skills with attention to detail
- Ability to solve problems and deal with varied situations
- Bilingual Spanish speakers preferred
