Job Summary
Store Manager Candidate duties include assisting in recruiting and staffing, supervising store staff, managing inventory and receiving, merchandising and pricing, and ensuring store operations align with established practices. Responsibilities also cover inventory control (damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork), meeting in-stock targets, delivering superior customer service, following company policies, participating in opening/closing duties, safeguarding funds, cash handling and deposits, maintaining safe, clean, and well-stocked stores, operating in the store manager's absence, analyzing financial statements for trends and cost-saving opportunities, and completing documentation on deadlines. Requires ability to recruit, train, and develop staff, ensure compliance with federal labor laws and company policies, and adapt to a fast-paced, retail environment. Preference for bilingual Spanish speakers; high school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred; one year of retail experience for external candidates.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates
- Ability to learn and perform IBM cash register functions
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination practices including legal compliance and internal processes
