Job Summary
Store Manager Candidate supports the Store Manager in staffing, inventory management, merchandising, cashier accountability, and store operations, with duties including recruiting and staffing, ordering practices, inventory processes, opening/closing, financial controls, and maintaining a safe, well-stocked store while modeling company procedures and delivering superior customer service. Emphasis on leadership, training and developing staff, adherence to policies, and ensuring store performance metrics such as in-stock targets, profitability, and shrink management.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to recruit, hire, and train staff
- Knowledge of federal labor laws and company policies
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally
