Job Summary
Store Manager Candidate supports the Store Manager in implementing store processes including employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, stocking and receiving, paperwork, and store needs. Responsibilities include assisting in recruiting and staffing, merchandising, inventory management, ordering practices to meet in-stock targets, providing superior customer service leadership, following company policies, participating in store opening/closing, ensuring secure deposits and cash control, maintaining clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment, operating in the store manager's absence, reviewing operating statements to identify trends and opportunities, and completing paperwork on time. Qualifications emphasize ability to read and interpret documents, basic math, cash handling, IBM cash register usage, inventory management, safety and security policies, recruiting/hiring processes, effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, and problem solving. Some locations may prefer bilingual Spanish speakers. High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred; one year of retail experience is preferred for external candidates. The role involves frequent walking/standing, lifting up to 40 pounds regularly and up to 55 pounds occasionally, with travel to other stores and possibly overnight stays. Equal opportunity employer.
