Job Summary
Manage store operations to maximize sales and profit while maintaining an enthusiastic rapport with customers. Control inventory shrinkage to within 2.5% of annual sales, enforce safety policies, and ensure accurate reporting of receipts, records, and inventories. Employ and train qualified staff, including an Assistant Manager, and supervise all personnel adherence to company procedures. Complete the Management Training Program, approve weekly schedules, and handle cash funds and sales receipts with full security. Order merchandise weekly, update on-hand levels, and implement company programs to maximize benefits. Maintain clean displays, stock rooms, and office areas, and keep District Managers informed of operational problems, equipment issues, and vendor shipment challenges.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of related experience in store management
- Ability to effectively communicate in English
- Strong planning, coaching, analytical and communication skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team-oriented work style
- Retail store environment where extended periods of standing are required
- Retail store stockroom environment subject to fluctuations in temperature
- Occasional lifting and maneuvering of merchandise and displays
- Frequent lifting and maneuvering of merchandise and displays
- Exposure to dust and extreme temperatures while unloading trailers
- Scheduled work hours may vary, to include evenings and weekends
- Occasional use of ladders required
- AS/AA degree plus 2 years of related experience
