Job Summary
Store Manager (21+ required) at Dollar General in Yazoo City, MS. Responsible for managing all store employees, including recruiting, selecting, training, evaluating performance, and ensuring staffing levels. Oversees ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, pricing, and signage; manages inventory accuracy, cash handling, security, and store financials; opens/closes the store multiple times per week; leads customer service and safety, enforces policies, and guides staff to meet sales targets and operational standards. Requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; knowledge of labor laws and compliance; prior retail management experience preferred; bilingual Spanish supported.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred
- Ability to recruit, hire, train and develop staff
- Knowledge of cash handling and POS systems
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to open/close store multiple times per week
