Job Summary
Store Manager responsible for supervising all store employees and directing the planning and implementation of store processes such as ordering, receiving, stocking, product presentation and pricing, staffing and support. Duties include recruiting, selecting and retaining qualified employees, training and performance evaluations, setting pay/advancement guidance, enforcing safety and policies, opening/closing the store, analyzing sales and inventory trends, managing in-stock targets, merchandising, cashier accountability, and maintaining a clean, secure, customer-focused environment. Requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, knowledge of cash handling and inventory practices, and compliance with company policies and federal labor laws. Position located in Cicero, Indiana. Dollar General is an equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (strongly preferred)
- One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedures manuals
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff
- Knowledge of safety and security policies and procedures
- Ability to maintain store compliance with federal labor laws and company policies
