Job Summary
Greet customers promptly via the gasoline intercom, maintain high standards for service and cleanliness, and ensure all associates adhere to uniform and conduct policies. Manage shift operations by clocking in/out, completing shift change reports, ringing sales, recording over-rings and refunds, and making daily deposits. Keep shelves stocked, clean equipment, and maintain a safe environment by following lifting procedures, using wet floor signs, and reporting maintenance issues. Actively promote the Huck's Bucks Loyalty app to customers while monitoring transactions for misuse. Work assigned shifts including evenings and manager days off, and communicate effectively with management regarding personnel or operational discrepancies.
Required Qualifications
- Willingness to accept a promotion and assume the responsibilities of a store manager upon completion of training programs and as an opening is available
- Option to relocate when there is an opening is negotiable
- Ability to work the store manager's days off
- Ability to work at least two (2) evening shifts per week
- Ability to effectively communicate with store associates and management
- Ability to follow all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances pertaining to the operation of the store
- Ability to provide a role model of conduct for other associates in the store
- Ability to ensure Store Manager is made aware of all sales, cash, or operating discrepancies
- Ability to ensure all associates are in proper uniform and providing prompt, courteous customer service
- Ability to treat all associates with dignity and respect and use proper personnel management techniques
- Ability to advise Store Manager of any personnel situations or policy violations having an adverse effect on store operating performance
- Ability to ensure all associate shift procedures are followed
- Ability to ensure a safe shopping and working environment
- Ability to ensure cash and merchandise in the store are handled in a secure manner according to company policy
- Ability to ensure vendor check-in procedures are followed per company policy
- Ability to keep coolers, drink boxes, store shelves, and displays fully stocked and fronted at all times
- Ability to properly clean and maintain equipment and ready high margin products such as coffee, fountain drinks, etc. as directed by Store Manager
- Ability to use correct pricing as listed on the DSD or grocery book for all merchandise
- Ability to ensure store appearance reflects company expectations and standards
- Ability to ensure floors are kept clean, waxed and buffed to a high gloss shine
- Ability to ensure store windows and all glass are clean
- Ability to ensure parking lot is swept daily, kept clean and in good repair
- Ability to ensure rest rooms are clean and in good working order
- Ability to report any maintenance problems that cannot be corrected immediately without assistance to the Store Manager
- Ability to ensure all food service areas are kept clean and follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to ensure that lifting procedures are followed, per company policy
- Ability to ensure that ladders are properly used
- Ability to ensure that wet floor signs are used, per company policy
- Ability to report accidents promptly to store manager and corporate office
- Ability to actively promote the Huck's Bucks Loyalty app to customers
- Ability to communicate to customers the benefits of signing up and using the app
- Ability to monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts
- Ability to assist customers on how to sign up and use the app for discounts and redemption
