Job Summary
Review landlord data and site surveys to create preliminary floor plans that optimize space while meeting company design guidelines and governing building codes. Present these plans to the internal store development team to validate needs for operations, marketing, and merchandise, then incorporate feedback before providing final designs to consultants. Develop full sets of architectural construction documents and coordinate design intent with SME engineers, while communicating with city officials to address plan review comments. Manage project deadlines and communicate updates to the cross-functional team, ensuring all locations have valid sublease and evacuation plans compliant with fire codes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field
- 2+ years work experience in chain retail store design and/or CAD design
- Ability to create, read, understand and interpret construction documents as well as architectural and engineering drawings
- Working knowledge of governing construction codes and accessibility design guidelines (ADA, ANSI, Title 24, etc.)
- Skilled in architectural design programs (Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think logically and problem solve
- Efficient time management skills to handle multiple projects at one time
- Ability to initiate immediate interaction, coordination, and collaboration with team members and business partners
- High level of engagement in virtual environments, including maintaining camera presence during meetings to support effective communication and team alignment
