Job Summary
As a NAPA Store Counter Sales associate, you are the face of our retail store, providing auto parts answers and solutions to customers in person or over the phone. You will use your parts knowledge to assist customers and teammates, deliver outstanding customer care, and foster a positive, high-energy shopping experience. Responsibilities include welcoming customers at the counter, answering questions, using a computer and cash register, and leveraging a paper catalog to locate parts. You should enjoy helping customers with auto parts questions, be willing to learn all things automotive, and care about delivering excellent service in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in a parts store or automotive industry is helpful, but a genuine interest in automotive parts and strong communication skills are key. Opportunities for growth exist within the company across multiple career paths, with training and a culture of promotion from within.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry or willingness to learn all things auto parts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Love fast paced retail environments
- Great listening skills and empathy for customers
- Knowledge of cataloging AND/OR inventory management systems a plus
- ASE Certifications (optional)
- Technical or Trade school courses or degree (desirable)
- Background and/or passion for automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership (nice to have)
