Job Summary
Assists customers in donating, selecting, and purchasing items at The Salvation Army store; operates and maintains a cash register, collects money, counts change, and prepares receipts; balances the cash drawer and runs routine print-outs; prepares and delivers bank deposits; ensures security of cash funds and sales records. Maintains neatness of displays, stocks bags and supplies, prices and tags items, and assists with loading/unloading donations. Provides customer service by explaining store policies, answering questions on pricing/purchasing, and ensuring a pleasant shopper experience. Maintains store cleanliness and safety, and inspects donated items for usability according to policies. Requires standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs; physical effort described. Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED and retail experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
