Job Summary
Store Associate needed at The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Burnaby, BC. Responsibilities include greeting customers and donors, contributing to sales targets, pricing and presenting donated items, handling cash and debit transactions with accuracy, processing donations, managing stock and inventory, assisting with store layout and displays, and maintaining a safe, organized shopping environment in compliance with OH&S policies. Qualifications include completion of some high school coursework, cash handling and cash-register experience, ability to lift up to 29 lbs, comfort working in a computerized environment, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a cooperative team. This is a permanent full-time role with a compensation range of approximately $18.25 to $21.74 per hour, up to $25.23 with placement based on experience and market conditions; location at 4099 Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of some high school coursework
- Cash handling experience
- Experience with cash registers and related processes (bank deposits, summaries)
- Knowledge of lifting guidelines
- Physically capable of lifting/carrying up to 29 lbs on a frequent basis
- Experience working in a computerized environment
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail
