Job Summary
Store Associate responsible for providing customer service, sorting incoming donations, and supporting ongoing thrift-store operations. Responsibilities include greeting customers, processing cash and debit sales, pricing and stocking donated goods, maintaining store presentation (layout, displays, pricing), handling donations, and contributing to achievement of sales targets. Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and work a permanent part-time schedule including weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Knowledge of product pricing, OH&S compliance, and using cash registers is desirable; prior experience with cash handling and computerized environments is preferred. The role is located at 20 Leslie St., Toronto, ON, Canada, starts at provincial minimum wage, and reports to the Store Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of some high school course work
- Cash handling experience is required
- Experience with cash registers and related processes and procedures i.e., bank deposits, summary reports
- Physically capable of lifting/carrying up to 30 lbs on a frequent basis with no assistance
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Self-motivated/disciplined
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral)
