Job Summary
Storage Support Engineer responsible for day-to-day stability, performance, and scalability of enterprise storage platforms (block, file, and object). Build automation and tooling to eliminate manual tasks, perform capacity planning and performance analysis, install and optimize storage systems and firmware, lead incident resolution and root-cause analyses, and collaborate with global teams to ensure 24x7 coverage. Maintain runbooks and SOPs, manage storage-related outages and post-incident reporting, and coordinate end-to-end storage projects with infrastructure, database, cloud, and application teams. Requires hands-on storage experience, scripting (Bash, Python, Ansible), data protection tooling (Rubrik, Cohesity, Data Domain), incident management, strong communication, and willingness to work shifts and on-site in New York as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience managing enterprise storage platforms across production environments
- Demonstrated experience with block storage technologies, file storage, and object storage
- Proven scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, and Ansible to automate operational tasks and deploy configuration changes at scale
- Direct experience with data protection technologies including Rubrik, Cohesity, and Data Domain, and with supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery workflows
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring, upgrading, and optimizing enterprise storage systems and firmware in production environments
- Proven incident management and troubleshooting experience resolving complex storage issues under production pressure and restoring service rapidly
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with infrastructure, database, cloud, and application teams globally
- Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends, participate in on-call rotations, and work from our New York office as needed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong documentation practices, and the ability to translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders
