Job Summary
Conduct routine external inspections of reservoirs, water towers, and other storage assets using surveying techniques and remotely operated vehicles (ROV) to gather data on asset condition. Support water quality investigations, identify defects, and escalate maintenance requirements through appropriate channels while assisting with planned outages to minimize customer impact. Maintain accurate inspection records, risk assessments, and site documentation, ensuring full compliance with health and safety procedures and DWI regulations. Collaborate with operational teams, engineers, and contractors to deliver the storage point programme and contribute to asset optimisation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Essential NVQ Level 2 qualification
- Good knowledge of operational activities and maintenance practices
- Understanding of water treatment and associated operational processes
- Strong IT skills and confidence using digital systems and inspection technologies
- Excellent communication and teamworking skills
- A proactive and self-motivated approach with the ability to make informed decisions and resolve issues within your area of responsibility
- Customer-focused with a commitment to doing the right thing for customers and colleagues
- Commitment to health, safety and environmental standards
- Flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours activities when required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within the water industry, utilities or a similar operational environment
- Understanding of DWI regulations relating to materials and disinfection of potable water
- Experience of inspection, surveying, asset monitoring or ROV technology
