Job Summary
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and shipping documentation, accurately processing transactions using inventory management systems. Conduct cycle counts, physical audits, and inventory reconciliations to maintain precise records, while labeling and organizing storage locations for new and existing products. Stock shelves, racks, and vending machines with merchandise, then pick, pack, and distribute materials based on customer orders and internal requisitions. Assist customers by locating products and answering availability questions, while operating approved material handling equipment safely and maintaining clean, organized work areas. This hourly Customer Site Stockroom Clerk role at Turner Supply Company in West Point, GA, supports daily inventory operations, replenishment, and customer service within a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to accurately sort, count, verify, and document inventory transactions
- Working knowledge of warehouse, stockroom, and inventory control procedures
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with customers and coworkers
- Ability to lift materials up to 30 lbs
- Adherence to customer-specific PPE and safety protocols (e.g., steel-toed boots, safety vests, eye protection)
- On-site presence (not a remote or hybrid role)
- Standard warehouse operating hours, with potential for early morning, evening, or weekend shifts
Desired Qualifications
- Previous stockroom, warehouse, inventory, or material handling experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of stockroom, warehouse, inventory control, or related experience
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
