Job Summary

Receive and inspect daily food deliveries, checking order accuracy and quality while rotating incoming stock in FIFO style. Write orders for the next day's delivery, including morning milk orders, and communicate product needs to menu items. Unpack, store, and label food and household supplies in compliance with NYS health codes and ServSafe regulations, removing dented cans and ensuring cooler and freezer temperatures are consistent. Perform routine manual labor in receiving, delivering, and storing products, including unlocking buildings and driving a corporate vehicle as needed. Maintain cleanliness of refrigeration and dry storage areas, prepare for end-of-month inventory, and alert the Manager to delivery discrepancies or temperature issues.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
Good working knowledge of the NYS Health Codes
Must have a violation-free NYS driver's license
Must be approved/authorized by the CAS insurance company to drive company vehicles
Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
Extensive computer use (Microsoft word, Excel)
Must know how to read a catering sheet
Must be able to set up a coffee service without assistance
Must store all products in compliance with ServSafe regulations
Must ensure that all storerooms, freezers, and coolers are neat and organized for inventory on the last day of the month
Must inform the Manager if a delivery charge is wrong
Must write up an interdepartmental transfer sheet correctly if another unit borrows items
Must alert the Manager to times that were outed
Must make sure there are working thermometers present in coolers and freezers
Must check cooler and freezer temperatures consistently
Must check incoming goods against order sheets
Must carefully check all delivery items for order accuracy and quality
Must rotate all incoming stock in the FIFO style
Must thaw products that are necessary for menu items
Must write orders for the next day's delivery
Must do a milk order each morning by 10:00 am for the next day's delivery
Must carefully check soda deliveries
Must remove dented cans from shelves and transfer products back to warehouse for credit
Must label open freezer products with food item name and weight of each case
Must ensure that all products are stored properly
Must ensure that bag in box products are rotated
Must ensure that products are stored correctly
Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
Must be available for weekend shifts
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
