Job Summary
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding while ensuring their comfort and well-being. Measure and record vital signs, monitor skin conditions, and document care provided in the facility's electronic health record. Ensure resident safety by adhering to infection control guidelines, practicing proper hand hygiene, and using personal protective equipment as required. Provide emotional support through conversation, respect resident dignity and privacy, and assist with social and recreational activities. Work collaboratively with nursing staff and participate in care plan meetings to develop individualized care plans.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current and active State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Ability to follow care instructions
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in documenting care in electronic health records (EHR) systems
