Job Summary
Develop and nurture trusting, nonjudgmental relationships with a caseload of 10 students, prioritizing face-to-face check-ins at school or home. Document and track progress on attendance, behavior, academics, and interventions to ensure alignment with individual success goals. Facilitate communication with faculty, staff, and community stakeholders to build support teams and connect families with necessary resources. Serve as a caring adult guide, sharing insights with instructional staff and collaborating with the Officer for Student Success Planning and Navigator Liaison. Work primarily before or after school hours with some evening commitments, requiring local travel for engagement. This pilot program is active at Chelsea High School and all three middle schools for the 2026-2027 school year, with a maximum of 30 hours per person.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in English
- Ability to work collaboratively with partners, colleagues, and participants
- Flexibility in responding to a fluid and evolving program environment
- Some local travel
- Work primarily conducted before or after school hours, with some required evening hours for meetings and family engagement
- Caseload of 10 students
- Regular tracking and documentation of progress
Desired Qualifications
- Some college experience
- Ability to communicate in Spanish
- Experience as an educator, social worker, community health worker, case manager, counselor, or community advocate
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent networking, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Cultural competency and sensitivity when working with diverse groups representing a range of needs, abilities, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Connections to community resources and institutions
