Job Summary
Complete and maintain all required STIHL brand training while developing deep product knowledge across chainsaws, trimmers, and blowers. Educate customers on features, safety, proper usage, and maintenance; troubleshoot equipment questions and guide customers toward appropriate solutions. Maintain accurate inventory, ensure equipment is properly assembled and merchandised, and support warranty conversations and service coordination. Assist with other outdoor power equipment brands and help support Lawn & Garden and other departments as needed. Work weekends during peak spring and summer season in a fast-paced retail environment, with an opportunity to pursue additional training and become a certified technician.
Required Qualifications
- Strong existing mechanical understanding of small engines or outdoor power equipment
- Ability to quickly absorb and apply brand-specific technical training
- High attention to detail and safety awareness
- Confidence explaining technical concepts clearly to customers
- Strong organizational skills and task follow-through
- Ability to move with purpose in a fast-paced retail environment
- Reliability — especially on weekends during peak season
- Initiative — you look for what needs to be done
- Positive, solution-focused communication
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable climbing ladders
- Ability to move and handle outdoor power equipment safely
- Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Weekends are required during peak spring and summer season
- 26–40 hours per week
- Strong preference for candidates available both weekend days during spring and summer
