Job Summary
Part-time Steward in the Rainbow Room (New York, NY) responsible for cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, washing dishes, restocking supplies, and supporting culinary and service teams. Duties include cleaning pots, pans, china, glassware, silverware; sweeping/mopping kitchen floors; removing dirty dishes; cleaning surfaces and equipment; restocking sanitation supplies; cleaning walk-ins, freezers, back halls, and other areas; assisting culinary team with plating and food prep; setting up hot line and event stations; ensuring health and safety compliance; and maintaining a clean, organized back-of-house environment for banquet events and dining service.
Required Qualifications
- The individual must possess the above knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Prior experience in the hotel/restaurant/catering industry in a similar role is strongly preferred.
- Must adhere to all company specific safety policies.
- Be able to understand and communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Work cooperatively with other team members.
- Must have open availability including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professionalism.
