Job Summary
Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, silverware, cooking utensils, and pots using commercial dishwashers or by hand, ensuring all items are properly dried, polished, and stored. Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, sweep and mop floors, and assist in cleaning bar, dining, and service areas before and after service. Maintain kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, stovetops, fryers, and refrigerators, reporting any damage promptly. Collect and dispose of kitchen waste following segregation procedures, refill supplies, and monitor inventory levels. Support chefs during food preparation and assist wait staff in setting up or clearing tables. Adhere to all hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards, including proper handwashing and wearing appropriate protective gear. Work early mornings with one day off per week in Lekki, with accommodation provided.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of SSCE / WAEC certificate
- 3 years of proven experience as a Steward, Kitchen Assistant, or Cleaner in a hotel, resort, or restaurant
- Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and food hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift, and move for extended periods
- Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required
Desired Qualifications
- OND or vocational training in hospitality
- Certification in Food Safety or Hygiene
