Job Summary
Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of all china, glass, and silver while ensuring the highest standards of sanitation. Wash, rinse, sanitize, sort, and store pots, glasses, china, silver, and flatware; operate dishwashing equipment to minimize breakage. Clean all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas, including heavy-duty cleaning of ovens, grills, sinks, walls, floors, and walk-in refrigerators. Assist the kitchen staff in maintaining cleanliness, support any position in the kitchen as needed, and help with buffet and banquet setup and breakdown. Empty garbage into the dumpster, report equipment maintenance needs, and change water on dishwashing machines. Adhere to company culture, attend required meetings and trainings, and follow all safety rules and sanitation standards.
Required Qualifications
- In compliance with California law, a Food Handlers Certification is required.
- Must adhere to the company's Service culture – 4 Keys to creating guests for life.
- Must participate in all hotel required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and orderliness in all kitchens, back dock, dumpster, and utility work areas.
- Be able to properly use chemicals to sanitize and know the MSDS information of each.
- Maintain clean and sanitary environment with knowledge of proper handling, storage, and sanitation.
- Knowledge of proper safe handling techniques for all chemicals used.
- Know the location and operation of all fire extinguishing equipment.
- Follow all sanitation standards.
- Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules.
- The scope of the position may sometimes require a work week over 40 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Medium work - Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Must be able to stand during entire shift.
- Must be able to withstand temperature variations both hot and cold.
- Must be able to bend, reach and stand for a minimum of eight (8) hours daily.
- Must be able to withstand high ambient temperatures while working in close proximity with cooking equipment.
- Upon hire, your employment will be contingent on proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States, which will be confirmed through the federal E-Verify system.
