Job Summary
Maintain sanitation standards in public areas, dormitories, work centers, and recreational facilities by cleaning bathrooms, disinfecting surfaces, and restocking supplies. Transport and process linens, report maintenance issues to the Janitorial Steward Coordinator, and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and safety protocols. Perform special projects including furniture moving, carpet extraction, and floor waxing as needed. Work up to 9 hours daily, including potential night shifts, in a physically challenging environment while complying with ASC Environmental Health & Safety requirements. Complete ServSafe Food Handler training and background investigations prior to deployment.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or GED
- Current ServSafe Food Handler certificate
- Valid driver's license
- Valid U.S. Passport
- US citizenship or permanent residency
- Tier 1 - Elevated Background Investigation (EBI) result
- Minimum of one year experience in a custodial related or manual labor industry
- Must be able to lift and move up to the safety regulation maximum in a safe manner
- Must be able to perform functions requiring repetitive motion
- Must be able to stand for up to 9 hours daily
- Must be able to work on hands and knees
- Must be able to work on a night shift
- Must be able to attend all scheduled employee meetings
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with Stations Services in Antarctica
