Job Summary
The Sterilization Technician supports daily operations related to the reprocessing of reusable medical supplies in compliance with infection control guidelines and AAMI standards. Responsibilities include decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, and maintaining equipment, alongside educational duties for staff.
Required Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of sterilization techniques and procedures for general dentistry
- Knowledge of materials used, their storage, handling and applications
- Completion of accredited course in central sterilization
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communications and teaching skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work under stressful conditions
- Familiarity with trauma informed care principles
Additional Requirements
- Frequent exposure to communicable disease and body fluids
- Must be able to work irregular hours
- Prolonged sitting or standing may be required
