Job Summary
Sterilization Technician performs sterilization according to ADA protocols and OSHA standards, maintains infection control, organizes inventory of supplies, and backs up seating of patients. Responsibilities include sterilizing and disinfecting dental instruments, preparing trays for patient turnover, ensuring all OSHA guidelines are followed, operating and maintaining sterilization equipment (autoclave), conducting daily/weekly infection control tests to ensure sterility, and assisting with periodontal charting as needed. Requires effective verbal and written communication, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, high school diploma or equivalent, and dental assistant certification where required; proficiency with computer software and adherence to HIPAA/BLS infection-control training. Pay ranges between $14 and $18 hourly, commensurate with experience.
