Job Summary
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and verify performance of sterilizers, washer decontaminators, and cart washers with minimal supervision. Perform maintenance on complex clinical equipment, read wiring and piping diagrams, and operate test tools while ensuring regulatory compliance. Manage inventory, assist with department improvement, and mentor associates. Requires 6 months of experience, AC/DC electrical and plumbing knowledge, and ability to travel. Valid driver's license needed.
Required Qualifications
- 6 months experience in the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of sterilization and decontamination equipment
- AC/DC electrical knowledge
- Must be able to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics
- Plumbing knowledge
- Must be able to read and understand piping diagrams
- Must be able to identify basic plumbing components
- Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- Variable travel requirements depending on primary site or region that may require use of personal vehicle
- 2 year degree in a technical/electronics field or equivalent experience
- TRIMEDX Trained Certification or completed an equivalent biomedical related certification program
- Routinely employ fine motor skills during the installation, servicing, and maintaining of sterilization and decontamination equipment
- Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, climb, balance, or otherwise maneuver body while servicing and repairing sterilization and decontamination equipment
- Ability to operate tools/machinery that use hand and/or foot controls (e.g. drills, saws, electronic test equipment, etc.) when servicing medical equipment
- Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 50 lbs. while working with sterilization and decontamination equipment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) and networking applications
- Must be available for travel as required
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Steris, Amsco and/or Getinge sterilizers
