Job Summary
Decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment while maintaining accurate records of sterilization processes. Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, manage inventory of sterile supplies, and distribute items to various hospital departments. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards throughout all operations. This evening shift role (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) at a premier academic medical center supports optimal patient care and surgical outcomes through meticulous sterile processing.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) – HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM)
- Minimum of one (1) year of employment as a Central Service Technician in a healthcare facility
- Proficiency in sterilization techniques
- Proficiency in instrument processing
- Proficiency in inventory management systems
- Strong attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Must be available for Evening Shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Central Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology program
