Job Summary
Sterile Processing Technician I needed in UHS Surgical Services across two NY facilities (Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City and Binghamton General Hospital, Binghamton). Responsibilities include manual decontamination, operation of mechanical and ultrasonic washers, use of sterilizers (including Ethylene Oxide), instrument drying and packaging, assembling instrument sets, performing quality inspections (e.g., scissor sharpness, residue checks), documenting through the instrument tracking system, and distributing sterile instruments to inpatient units and clinics. Maintains adherence to SPD policies and infection control, wears appropriate PPE, and supports inventory and cross-unit instrumentation needs. Requires High School Diploma or equivalent and certification within 18 months of hire; preferred SPD/in OR experience. Multiple shifts available; on-site daytime, evening, and night options with potential for travel between multiple UHS locations. Benefits eligibility for regular roles with 24+ hours/week.
Required Qualifications
