Job Summary
Sterile Processing Technician responsible for decontamination, cleaning, packaging, disinfection, and sterilization of medical and surgical equipment and supplies in compliance with ANSI/AAMI, APIC, AORN, and CMS guidelines. Maintains records of testing and procedures, monitors equipment, troubleshoots issues, and delivers items for storage. Engages in continuing education, supports inter-professional collaboration, and adheres to DRH safety and vaccination policies. Must be able to take call within 45 minutes, and operate in a safety-sensitive environment per Oklahoma law.
Required Qualifications
- Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English
- Basic computer skills including the ability to send/receive/email, navigate information technology associated with the position, and use Electronic Health Record information tools
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; Ability to remain flexible to quickly adapt to urgent situations
- Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position
- Must be able to take call and respond within 45 minutes
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- For those positions requiring travel, a current valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance must be maintained
