Job Summary
Sterile Processing Technician provides sterile surgical instrumentation and disinfects equipment for Surgical Services and Clinical departments throughout the hospital. Requires a high school diploma or GED and must be a Certified Registered Central Service Technician within 18 months of hire. On-site at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital with days shifts and rotating on-call weekends/holidays. Skills include knowledge of sterilization principles, handling surgical instrumentation, disinfecting procedures, communication, stress management, and the ability to react to emergencies.
