Job Summary
Supervise sterile processing staff in decontamination, high-level disinfection, sterilization, and storage of reusable patient care instrumentation. Directly oversee technicians across multiple shifts while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, manufacturer instructions, and hospital policies. Assist with inventory maintenance of sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies to support safe patient care operations. Perform secretary and clerical functions as needed. Maintain a safe environment by following industry standards for the handling, transport, and storage of patient care equipment. This seasonal role requires flu vaccination and specific immunizations; candidates must hold a Certified Registered Central Service Technician credential upon hire.
Required Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years experience
- Experience in OR sterile processing or Central Sterile reprocessing
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician
- Certified Instrument Specialist
- Certified Healthcare Leader
- Certified Endoscope Reprocessor
- Seasonal influenza vaccine
- Willingness to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella)
- Evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005
- Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) or Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) or Certified Endoscope Reprocesser (CER) within 2 years of hire
