Job Summary
Clean, inspect, sterilize, and package surgical instruments and equipment according to standards while operating sterilizers, washers, and related machinery safely. Assemble instrument trays with accurate labeling and storage, monitor sterile supply inventory for outdated or compromised items, and maintain a compliant work area. Support patient safety, infection prevention, and quality improvement initiatives through effective communication with teammates and physicians. This part-time role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with no nights, weekends, holidays, or call, located at the NYC Joint & Spine Center in Englewood, NJ.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs (occasionally up to 100 lbs)
- Monday–Friday schedule, PRN (hours vary)
- No nights, weekends, holidays, or call
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in sterile processing
- CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification
- Ability to obtain CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification within 18 months of hire if required
