Job Summary
Execute established procedures for decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and redelivery of instrumentation, materials, and equipment to hospital and affiliated facilities. Provide direct ancillary support in Operating Rooms and GI Endoscopy Department. Demonstrate ability to comprehend medical terminology and math while following regulatory guidelines and professional standards related to sterile technique and infection control. Work casual weekday daytime shifts between 6:30AM and 5:30PM, with some on-call weekend shifts. Pay ranges from $18.02 to $24.56 per hour based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must demonstrate ability to comprehend medical terminology and math
- Working knowledge of and demonstrated ability to follow regulatory guidelines, professional standards and recommended practices i.e., ANSI, AAMI, AORW related to sterile technique and infection control based on microbiology principles and best available evidence for practice
Desired Qualifications
- Sterile Processing Technician training and/or certification
- Previous surgical aide or sterile processing experience
