Sterile Processing Technician Associate

Job Summary
Decontaminate, clean, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment while adhering to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards. Sort contaminated items from various departments, inspect cleaned instruments for damage, and package sets according to established count sheets. Monitor sterilization cycles, operate automated washing and sterilization equipment, and document all processes accurately. Deliver sterile items to requesting departments in a timely manner and maintain a clean, organized work environment. This role works under direct supervision to ensure surgical instrumentation is properly processed and available for procedural and patient care areas.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED
- Pass a nationally accredited central service exam within 18 months of hire
- Maintain Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification
- A Surgical Technologist holding an active Certification of Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery Certified (TSC) meets this license requirement
- Compliance with the code of business conduct and company policies
- Adherence to applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
- Compliance with company policies and training requirements
- HIPAA compliance as described in the Notice of Privacy Practices and Privacy Policies and Procedures
- Adherence to data security guidelines established within the Company's Handbook of Privacy Policies and Practices and Information Security Policy
