Job Summary
Provides sterile equipment and supplies to surgery and other departments, including decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, and processing of supplies per department policy; prepares instrument sets and trays, ensures instruments are clean, labels items for sterilization, operates washers/disinfectors and sterilizers, follows infection control guidelines, conducts quality assurance checks, and assists with Case Carts and Sterile Core duties; requires 18+ with preferred High School diploma/GED, experience in Sterile Processing or related training, and CBSPD or CRCST certification within 18 months of hire; shift is 8 hours on nights, 0.5 FTE (40 hours per two weeks), occasional weekends; pay range $23.12-$30.32/hour with benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required principle competencies as listed on the job description
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in Sterile Processing or Vocational/Technical training/education in Instrument Specialist, Central Supply, or Surgical Technology
- Licenses/Certifications: Certification from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) within 18 months of hire or Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) Certification within 18 months of hire
