Job Summary
Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment, then prepare instrument trays for surgeries and procedures. Operate sterilization and instrument tracking systems while maintaining quality, safety, and infection prevention standards throughout the health system. Support caregivers by ensuring critical equipment is available when needed, utilizing technologies such as electronic medical records and inventory management systems. Work evening shifts from 2:30 pm to 11 pm, with occasional weekend and holiday rotations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED graduate or equivalent
- Must be able to push/pull up to 75lbs
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs routinely
- Must be able to tolerate heat while wearing personal protective equipment
- Must be able to work in an environment with frequent noises, alerts, and disruptions
- Must be available for evening shifts (8-hour shifts | 2:30 pm to 11 pm)
- Must be available for occasional weekends and holidays
- Must be available for full-time hours (72-80 Hours every two weeks)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare
- The ability to understand detailed technical instruction for surgical instrumentation and equipment
