Job Summary
Collect and decontaminate reusable equipment and supplies in accordance with department, manufacturer, and OSHA standards. Inspect, disassemble, sort, and process general and specialty instruments, including complex sets for ear, vascular, orthopedic, cataract, and lap-cholecystectomy procedures. Assemble instrument sets using standard operating procedures and surgical case count sheets. Sharpen dull instruments and repair broken ones prior to sterilization. Sterilize equipment using steam, hydrogen peroxide, paracetic acid, ethylene oxide, or glutaraldehyde per manufacturer instructions. This role requires one year of related work experience and certification within six months. Required Qualifications
- one year of related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities
- Certified and Registered Central Service Technician, within 6 - months
- Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Tech, within 6 - months
- Cert Sterile Processing Dist Tech, within 6 - months
- Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Supervisor, within 6 - months
Desired Qualifications
- Graduation from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management Course, upon hire
