Sterile Processing Supervisor - Day Shift

Job Summary

Coordinate daily workflow, staff competency, and quality assurance for the Sterile Processing Department, supervising Lead Technicians and Technicians I through III. Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant reprocessing of surgical instruments and medical devices while supporting perioperative and procedural areas. Maintain adherence to regulatory standards, productivity expectations, and professional development goals. Requires CRCST or CBSPD certification, three years of sterile processing experience, and ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of high school or GED equivalency
  • Certified and maintain a certification in sterile processing from CRCST – HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of sterile processing experience in sterile processing and/or leadership role
  • Knowledge of sterilization principles
  • Knowledge of microbiology
  • Knowledge of infection prevention practices
  • Knowledge of instrument names, functions, and specialty sets
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and recordkeeping
  • Ability to perform job functions while standing
  • Ability to perform job functions while sitting
  • Ability to perform job functions while walking
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Ability to work indoors

  • Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force
  • Ability to maintain vision 20/40 corrected
  • Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance
  • Ability to match or discriminate between colors
  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
  • Good peripheral vision capabilities
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements

  • Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems
