Job Summary
Lead a team of three FTEs through daily operations, overseeing the decontamination, cleaning, assembly, and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment. Perform and validate sterilization tests to maintain quality assurance while implementing and maintaining quality control procedures across all functions. Ensure full compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, CDC, and AAMI standards by upholding infection control protocols and safety standards at all times. Train, develop, and mentor sterile processing staff while managing instrument and equipment inventory and departmental workflow. Coordinate with other hospital departments to ensure timely instrument availability and service delivery. This full-time, daytime role supports a 204-bed facility in Loxahatchee, Florida, featuring a Primary Stroke Center and Level II NICU.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician or equivalent certification
- Two to three years of previous experience in sterile processing
- One year of leadership experience
- In-depth knowledge of sterilization techniques
- In-depth knowledge of infection control
- In-depth knowledge of automated sterilization systems
- Full-time, daytime hours, no weekends
