Job Summary
Senior Sterile Processing Tech responsible for decontamination, assembly, sterilization, packaging, and distribution of medical equipment across the hospital and affiliates; provides mentorship and training to junior staff; manages inventory and replenishment of sterilization supplies; ensures safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance; requires nationally accredited central service credentials; 3 years’ sterile processing experience; part-time evening schedule (3pm–11:30pm) at Rochester General Hospital, Rochester NY; high school diploma or equivalent preferred; certification due within 18 months of hire; physical ability to handle required duties.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years’ experience in sterile processing
- Successfully passed a nationally accredited central service exam
- Holds and maintains one of the following credentials: Certified Registered Central Service Technician credential; Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician credential; Central Service Technician certification
- Certification required within 18 months of hire
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Experience in mentoring or precepting
- Completion of associates’ level coursework in clinical field
