Job Summary
Oversee the 24/7 operations of the campus-specific Sterile Processing Department, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, and OSHA. Lead and mentor a team of supervisors, technicians, and support staff while developing, implementing, and monitoring departmental goals, performance metrics, and quality initiatives. Collaborate closely with Surgical Services, Infection Prevention, and Supply Chain to optimize workflows and manage staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. Drive process improvement initiatives that enhance quality, safety, and operational performance while serving as the department's subject matter expert for sterilization practices and instrumentation management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare, nursing or business management field
- Professional certification in an SPD specialty (CRCST)
- CHL certification
- Five years of appropriate technical experience
- Leadership experience
- Project management experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
