Job Summary
Sterile Processing Instrument Lead responsible for decontamination, processing, and sterilization of instruments and equipment. Performs high-level disinfection and sterilization in accordance with Manufacturer's Instructions for Use, hospital policies, and department processes. Maintains documentation of processes in logs or computer systems, prioritizes instrumentation for processing, handles dispatch of instruments and supplies, and supports a mission-driven Mercy healthcare team. Requires High School diploma, 18 months experience in Sterile Processing (or 1600 hours), CRCST or CSPDT certification with CEUs, and basic computer skills. Must be able to wear PPE and work with diverse staff while following directions and operating equipment. Location: Rogers, AR, USA.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 18 months experience in Sterile Processing or 1600 hours of hands-on experience in Sterile Processing
- Certifications: Maintain CRCST or CSPDT Certification through HSPA or CBSPD by completing required CEU hours. Recommend obtaining additional Sterile Processing Certifications of CIS, CER &/or CHL.
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Must interact with staff and co-workers across a diverse range of disciplines
- Must be able to follow directions
- Must be able to operate equipment
