Job Summary
Education Coordinator III – Sterile Processing leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive SPD education and competency program, develops structured learning pathways, applies adult learning principles, delivers in-services and certification courses, mentors new hires, maintains certification compliance, tracks competencies and training records, collaborates with SPD leadership for regulatory readiness, and supports cross-shift education to ensure consistent competency validation and enhanced patient care. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and five years of Sterile Processing or OR experience, with CRCST or CSPDT certification; CST/CER/CIS/CHL are preferred. Office is hospital-based in Wilmington, DE with full-time daytime hours (day shift).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Five years Sterile Processing or Operating Room experience required
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER), Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS), Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) preferred
- Prior experience in education, training, or precepting required
