Job Summary
Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of the comprehensive education and competency program for the Sterile Processing Department, including onboarding, annual competencies, and certification preparation. Develop structured learning pathways and targeted training programs using adult learning principles, while delivering in-services, workshops, and simulation-based courses. Serve as a preceptor and mentor for new hires, conducting skill assessments and maintaining formal preceptor evaluations. Perform observational quality checks of sterilization processes and instrument handling, trend data on tray errors, and develop education plans based on audit findings. Collaborate with leadership to align initiatives with regulatory requirements and support interdisciplinary collaboration to improve workflow efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Five years Sterile Processing or Operating Room experience
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
- Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)
- Prior experience in education, training, or precepting
