Job Summary
STEM Workshop Instructor for Mad Science. Conduct one-hour in-classroom science enrichment sessions using a pre-set curriculum, delivering high-energy, hands-on classes that are part entertainment and part education. Responsibilities include facilitating sessions, picking up/dropping off and maintaining equipment. Requires experience teaching children, a friendly and dynamic demeanor, availability Monday through Friday 8:30 am–1:30 pm, fingerprinting and TB testing, and some college. Part-time role with training provided; compensation is $40 per workshop (typically 2–3 workshops daily). Location: San Jose, CA. Training and materials provided; classes follow the school calendar year-round.
Required Qualifications
- Experience teaching children in a classroom or camp environment
- Be friendly, flexible, dynamic and passionate about supporting children’s learning
- Available M-F between 8:30a-1:30p
- Reliable transportation (not public or ride share)
- Fingerprinting for criminal background checks and TB testing
- Some college
- Train in curriculum and provided materials
