Job Summary
Plan and lead engaging STEM activities, projects, and challenges for campers; teach age-appropriate concepts in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on learning; facilitate experiments, coding activities, robotics, engineering design challenges, and other STEM-focused experiences; supervise campers and ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive camp environment; prepare, organize, and maintain STEM equipment, materials, and learning spaces; encourage creativity, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among campers; uphold YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Courage.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth in recreation or similar setting (preferred)
- Knowledge of STEM subjects and enthusiasm for hands-on learning
- Must be willing and able to obtain CPR & First Aid Certifications, or currently hold
- Must be available to attend camp trainings before and throughout camp season
- Able to bring a patient, caring, responsible, flexible and positive attitude to work
