Job Summary
Serve as the primary point-of-contact to communicate Department of the Navy STEM opportunities, including programs like SEAP and NREIP, to students and their families. Plan and coordinate STEM outreach events in collaboration with naval sites across the Department of the Navy while maintaining clear communication with internal and external stakeholders to maximize outreach impact. Maintain U.S. citizenship and a SECRET security clearance, holding a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM field with relevant science writing experience. This role supports Naval STEM Outreach efforts within the Office of Naval Research.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to obtain or currently hold a SECRET security clearance prior to award
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, communications, or journalism with at least five years of experience in science writing, editing, or a related field
- Master's degree in a STEM field, communications, or journalism with at least two years of experience in science writing, editing, or a related field
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Government, Department of Defense (DoD), or Department of the Navy (DON) internship programs
