Job Summary
Contributes to iconic construction projects by fitting and assembling steel structures and support structures. Reads technical plans or drawings to assemble and adjust metal sections using spot welding, operates high-performance machines (torches, grinders, drills), and uses overhead cranes. Documents defects and reports to supervisors, follows quality procedures and manufacturing standards, observes safety rules, and works as part of a team on-site in Terrebonne, QC during the evening shift (3:15pm–1:45am). Salary is hourly-based with an evening shift premium; 40-hour compressed work week; benefits include group insurance, pension, paid time off after one year, on-site gym, meals, and parking with EV charging. Fresh and experienced welders/fitters with DVS or equivalent experience are encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Welding and Fitting
- Minimum of 2000 hours of working experience in the field
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of Imperial and Metric measures
- Good knowledge of written and spoken French
- Knowledge of spoken English (asset)
- Good knowledge in using welding machines, grinders, burning torches, cutting torches, cranes
